This white 9V electric fencing kit is a portable system for creating temporary horse paddocks, strip-grazing areas and internal field divisions.

There are two Balfour energisers to choose from:

• Balfour B250
• Balfour B450

The B250 has a maximum output of 0.17 joules and is best suited to shorter, clean horse fences where relatively low battery consumption is important.

The B450 produces a stronger maximum output of 0.3 joules. This gives it more power for a longer fence or an installation exposed to limited vegetation.

Both energisers have normal and battery-saving pulse settings. Selecting the slower setting reduces the pulse frequency and helps conserve battery power when the higher pulse rate is unnecessary.

The kit includes a non-rechargeable 9V alkaline battery. Several capacities are available, allowing you to choose how much battery capacity you would like. Selecting a larger battery does not make the fence more powerful, but it will usually increase the operating period between battery replacements.

The battery is housed inside the energiser enclosure, keeping the power source and energiser together in one portable unit.

An earth stake and the necessary fence and earth connection leads are supplied.

The conducting line is a 200m roll of highly visible, 20mm-wide white electric fence tape with four stainless-steel conductors. White tape provides good contrast in most paddocks, helping horses and handlers identify the fence boundary.

Twenty white electric fence posts are included. Available options are standard 3ft posts, taller 4ft posts and 4ft Turbomax Smart posts.

The remaining accessories include a gate handle, gate handle insulators, ring insulators, an electric-fence warning sign and a fence tester. The precise components used will depend on the shape of the fence and the available anchoring points.

A separately available 4W solar-assist panel can reduce the amount of power drawn from the battery during daylight hours. The panel powers the energiser when sufficient daylight is available but does not recharge the non-rechargeable 9V battery.
