The Gallagher M1400 is a powerful 230V mains energiser for extensive cattle and sheep fencing, large farm boundaries and installations where vegetation creates a substantial load. It is intended for permanent systems that genuinely require a high level of output.

With 7.7 joules delivered to the fence, the M1400 is recommended for approximately 14km of multi-line fencing with dense vegetation. This rises to 34km with light growth or a maximum of 55km under ideal conditions.

These figures make it suitable for large boundary systems, numerous connected paddocks and farms where one energiser needs to maintain useful voltage across an extensive network.

Active power adjustment helps the energiser respond as the load on the fence changes. This is particularly valuable on a large system where vegetation, damp conditions or minor faults can cause demand to vary throughout the year.

An LED output indicator provides a quick visual check of fence performance. Integrated lightning protection provides some protection against surges entering through the fence, although an external lightning diverter remains worthwhile on a large permanent installation.

The M1400 must be mounted indoors or in a dry, protected position. High-voltage insulated lead-out cable is required between the energiser, outdoor fence and earth system.

Earthing is particularly important at this output level. Gallagher recommends four substantial earth stakes, installed with suitable spacing and connected using proper earth cable. The energiser, lead-out cable and insulators must all be matched to the demands of a high-output installation.
